The Etiquette of Wedding Favors

Just like other important occasion, a wedding is governed by etiquette. From the start of the wedding procession up to the reception hall, there are procedures that are followed. Wedding favors are of course included in the wedding etiquette. The need to give out wedding favors to guest and sponsors is an etiquette being followed. 

A couple can have the freedom to either forego with the etiquette of giving out wedding favors. It is not a required procedure in a wedding but etiquette would dictate that you have to follow the tradition of giving wedding favors simply because your guests and sponsors would be anticipating receiving them.    

Sometimes wedding etiquette when it comes to wedding favors will have to follow family traditions if the couple to be married comes from a family of traditional values. There are weddings where the giving out of wedding favors would be handed out individually among the guest and sponsors during the time they will be leaving the reception place. 

This etiquette in the handing out personally of wedding favors during the time the wedding reception has ended and the guest and sponsors are falling in line to leave the place is a tradition being followed by traditional families. There are other weddings where the etiquette of giving out wedding favors to guests and sponsors are done through table placements.

There are two ways of etiquette being followed in the giving out of wedding favors when it comes to table placements. The first way is to place each wedding favors besides each plate on the table, even before the guest and sponsors will arrive. The other way will be to personally give the wedding favors to each guest and sponsors while they are already seated on their assigned table before they start to eat.           

Even the wedding favors are likewise covered by etiquette.  The usual procedure that is now being followed in giving of wedding favors will be to wrap the wedding favors in a nice way and to have the wedding favors done in a personalized way to contain your thank you note, your name and that of your fiancée and the date of marriage. There are some who would even indicate the church where they are to be married.  This of course will depend on the discretion of the bride and the groom. In most cases, the name of the church is not included.

The kinds of item that a couple can give to their gusts are also coved by etiquettes. These items should be worth displaying or useful to the recipients. As you will notice wedding favors are either beautiful to look at and worth displaying or are things than can be eaten or useful to the recipients.

With all due respect to wedding etiquette, couples who are in a very tight budget but who would like to follow the etiquette in relation to wedding favors, can still do it by utilizing do it yourself ideas for wedding favors.

They can use candies as their wedding favors and still fall within the etiquette needed for wedding favors. Wedding etiquette does not call for a high priced wedding favors. You can give only what you can afford to give. So long as the wedding favors are sincerely given and can be useful to your guests, for sure, it will be appreciated by them.

If you are really hard up, even candles will do for your wedding favors. Purchase a spool of ribbons cut it to size for the candles and have it printed for your thank you message, your names and the date of your wedding and tie it to candles of different colors, and presto! You can already have your low-cost wedding favors that can be appreciated by your wedding guest.
